- - - - - - - - - - - Letting the others speak for a change, Noah had walked to the back of the stage to pick up a new bottle of water but pouted a little when their was nothing so once glance to the side to look for a runner, Noah saw Natalie his sister and gave her a soft smile of gratitude. Sure, around other people they did nothing but rat on one another about something, or as was far more likely, she would mock him for something. His attention was diverted from her as he curled up his hand and coughed dryly, grabbing the bottle of water from the runner who gave him something of a strange look. Yes, it was his fourth of the set and although they were done with a lot of the songs they were scheduled to play, not even Noah usually drunk this amount of water. Still, his throat was too dry for it to be comfortable and without his ice chips that were in the freezer back stage, he had nothing else that could soothe it. Truthfully, he had been feeling ill for a couple of days, largely because of the poor air on the buses. Nat had bought him a purifier as apparently the inhaler wasn't doing it's job. Circulated air was not any good for his poor condition of his lungs back from a premature birth. The other thing of course is that unsurprisingly Noah had been running late and had ran to the bus to pick up his breathing kit, just in case, which his mother had drilled into him on having at all times. Nevertheless, the stage staff at this particular venue had all but picked him up and dragged him back before he had managed to get it and now, he was simply stuck with his lame ass inhaler. Oh well. He hadn't needed the breathing tube since he was seven so it was highly unlikely he would now. Pulling the inhaler from his pocket, Noah took his obligatory puff for any show facing away from the crowd, silently noticing that there was actually pretty much nothing left in it. He wouldn't dare show Natalie that though so stuffing it back into his jeans pocket, Noah smiled and walked back to the front.
Noah licked his lips to try and wet his completely dry lips as Winter on the drums kicked off 'Bounce', flicking his fringe out of his eyes and wiping his forehead on his arm before he adjusted the microphone so it was at a better height above his piano. He smiled as the full crowd roared at the familiar opening of one of their most well known songs, "If you know this, help me out, alright?!" He grinned familiarly as they cheered again and Noah let his fingers ghost over the keys, one leg forward and one back as he stood against the piano/keyboard facing the crowd in the middle of the stage. Grinning at the front row of the crowd, Noah coughed slightly away from the mic before jumping straight into the lyrics as his fingers pushed the keys. As he sung, his throat burned somewhat but it was bearable, at least he thought it was until his voice caught halfway through a song and made him cough once, dryly. Picking straight up from where he left, Noah ignored any possible looks he could have got from his band mates, particularly Winter behind him and licked his lips again. His throat truly was beginning to burn the more he sang, but he wasn't going to stop. He could finish the set and then have fun with the oxygen tank in the first aid tent. Noah relied a bit more on the backing vocals from the others for parts of the chorus as well as letting the crowd sing some of the song back to them, a useful tactic at times like this. As his piano part stopped, Noah gripped the microphone, putting all of his effort onto his voice and reducing the amount of strain it sounded like it was under.
Noah did the warm up to the highest note of the song by starting slightly lower then usual but even as he got to the note, Noah's eyes narrowed and his throat closed up that little bit more, and although he reached it, it broke off far earlier then usual where he could normally show off with his vocals. Not now. Pushing his face into his arm, Noah tried to stop the coughing fit that started which he managed to do after a few seconds and finish the song off like nothing had happened, his eyes threatening to water a bit at the intensity of the dry cough that had wracked his body. As the song started to come to an end, Noah didn't drag it out any more like he would usually with a bit of a cheeky piano solo. Instead, he just let the notes drift off his keyboard and pulled his inhaler from his picket, shaking it a little and turning slightly from the crowd to take another puff, although it was clearly futile. His friends didn't need to know that though. Turning back, Noah moved the microphone out of a nervous habit and smiled as best as he could. "I'm sorry about this guys. i promise I'm not doing it on purpose..." Lifting a hand, Noah grinned to try and ease the tension a bit and it seemed to work quite well. Noah stepped back again as another cough landed in his throat and he simply turned to try and disguise it as him trying to pass it off as getting a towel to wipe his face. Grabbing it, Noah didn't really have chance to use it as the coughing wouldn't stop, his throat burning beyond belief.
Noah leaned on one of the amps a bit, his shoulders hunched a little as he coughed breathier and breathier. Squeezing his eyes shut, Noah hoped it would pass and moving his hand from his mouth, Noah stepped back toward the crowd but had to stop, his whole body folding in half as his breathing got worse and worse. Crouching down, Noah wasn't even aware of what was going on around him as he pulled air into his lungs as best as he could, but causing him to cough and exhale anything he could actually get in. His chest burned and using one arm to rest against on the floor, Noah lost some of his balance and dropped down to fall back, his legs angled funny as he leaned forward towars his knees to try breathe. Damn, he hadn't felt this since he was younger. Panic started to creep into his mind that he couldn't breathe, making it even worse, his throat closing up even more. His chest burned and his body falling back, Noah's back arched a little as he strained for air. His eyes peeked open, although they were brimming with water, and his green gaze locked onto Winter beside him. His hand flew to her knee to squeeze as much as he could, his body struggling and straining, his eyes revealing the panic making everything even worse.

you wear your heart on your sleeve ( AND THREW MINE TO THE SKY ! ) To be honest, Winter's mind wasn't on the music as much as it should be. It was a good thing she was good at drums and could think and keep them up at the same time. If she wasn't, she would have messed up a million times by now. Her mind was still caught on the small conversation between her and Noah earlier. They had been talking about who took longer to get ready in the bathroom as she had commented about being sick of waiting for the boys to finish up. Noah had came back saying that if girls didn't hog the bathroom, then it wouldn't be such a problem. Of course, Winter being Winter, and without thinking, said that they could always use the bathroom at the same time, that she didn't mind sharing. It was a typical Winter comment as she was a huge flirt and everyone knew it. Everyone knew Noah was a flirt too and he just reminded her of that by telling her that the next time she was in the shower, to give him a call and they could pick up where they left off. Normally, a comment like that to Win would send her smirking and flirting as well, everyone knew the girl liked her sex too. But with Noah it was different. She could easily hold him to it and get some alone time they hadn't had in years. But could she do that to herself? She had felt something more than just friendship since the two had had their first time together. Sure she wanted that connection again, but she knew it meant more to her than it did to Noah and would be the same way if it happened again. She would only be left feeling much more for her best friend than he did for her. She couldn't do that to herself. So, she had changed the topic of the conversation and moved on to what the two had done the night before. It was easier that way, though she wished she didn't have to.
Her eyes focused back in, bringing her mind with her, as a song ended and Noah walked back for another bottle of water. Win raised an eyebrow slightly. Even though he was the singer, he never drank this much water at a show. She didn't fret on it too long as she remembered he had said he hadn't been feeling too well, what with adjusting to life on a bus and such. She had bought him some ice chips when she had been out, going out of her way to get them even though he had told her not to. He was her best friend after all and Win worried about him. Waiting until he turned and went back to the front, Winter started the next song on the set list. 'Bounce' was definitely a favorite of not only the crowd's but hers as well. She simply loved playing it. Maybe it was how she hardly hit the drums a few times before the crowd recognized it and went crazy. It was always so awesome to hear the crowd whether they were just cheering or singing along with Noah. She kept her mind on the music now, not letting it drift away from her again. Her eyes drifted over the crowd from behind her drum set as every one of their mouths moved along with the words. Her gaze didn't stay on them long though as they shifted to Noah with the sound of him coughing. She raised an eyebrow once more but kept her drums going as Noah didn't seem to hesitate or anything. She figured it was nothing or else he wouldn't have gone straight back into the music as he did. Still, her eyes didn't leave him for a moment though she was a bit surprised at how much he let the crowd sing back to him. Sure he was a fan of doing that, she knew, but she also knew he liked to show off his voice. Especially with this song. She thought maybe he was switching things up though and shrugged it off mentally, her eyes drifting over the crowd once more.
Win caught the end of Noah's small second coughing fit, and she tensed a little, beginning to worry about him. Once again though, he pulled out of it like it was nothing. This time, her eyes didn't leave her best friend as the song ended and she watched him use the inhaler he kept on him at all times. He apologized and she relaxed a little. She saw him turn back and she leaned down to get her own bottle of water, taking a drink and wiping the sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand. She swallowed hard though as she saw Noah's coughing wasn't stopping. Her eyes widened slightly as she watched him go from leaning on an amp, to doubling over and coughing horribly. She stood and dropped her water bottle without bothering to put the lid on and the crowd gasped and went silent at the same time. She had to force her gaze off of Noah so she could look to Natalie, eyes wide with worry, offstage. "Nat!" She screamed to Noah's sister to get her attention. "Get Noah's breathing kit!" Her eyes fell back onto her best friend as she watched him crumple to the ground, his back arching with the coughs that rippled through him. She dropped the sticks that she had been holding in a death grip and ran to him, kneeling beside him. Her own chest was tight with worry. Noah had always had asthma and allergies and Win knew it was because he was born premature and left in a weaker state than most ever since. Anytime he mentioned not feeling well, Win was right with Nat with worry and concern. She had never witnessed something like this with him though and her heart was pounding in her chest.
Feeling his hand on her knee and squeezing, she placed one of her one on top of it. Her eyes never left his panic filled ones though. "Noahkins.." She said as calmly as she could, though her voice was shaky. Her hand not on his moved to his forehead, brushing away his shaggy hair and trying to help him relax slightly. Win didn't know much about how to help him right now without his breathing kit, but she knew him struggling and panicking wasn't helping at all. "Try and relax.. okay?" Win was noticing nothing around them right now. Her entire focus was on her best friend, struggling to breathe on the stage floor in front of her. Where was Natalie with his breathing kit? What if she didn't make it in time? What if Noah didn't make it..? Winter swallowed hard, fighting the tears that wanted to pour out with worry for not only someone who was her best friend, but also the kid she was head over heels for. Her eyes never left his. Not even as their band mates tried to distract the crowd. Or as whisper's rippled through the crowd. Or as Natalie appeared on the other side of Noah with his breathing kit. "See Noah, Nat's here. Just relax.. You're gonna be alright." Once again she tried to keep her voice calm and soothing but it only defied her with it's shaky and obviously worry filled tone.
